Purpose and Mission of PIU The PIU School System aims to confer appropriate undergraduate degrees to individuals who successfully complete all training and educational requirements for their chosen discipline in preparation for their career. Graduate and post-graduate degrees are also added. The proper degrees in the ministry, and all other degrees awarded, are granted only to those who fulfill all training and educational requirements for such degrees and who agree with all purposes outlined in this Catalog, particularly the following: The purpose of class attendance is to give students opportunities to interact through the presentation and analysis of subject matter and to familiarize them with various attendance procedures. Regular attendance is crucial for students to gain the full benefits of their educational program. Each professor or instructor has been instructed to notify students if they are at risk of being dropped from class due to missing more than 20% of the required attendance. If a student’s attendance exceeds 20% or their grade drops below 2.5, they may be dropped from courses by the Registrar. PIU places Christ in a preeminent position in all programs and degrees offered by the school. The Holy Bible [King James Version], which includes Christian education, emphasizes personal salvation and the importance of each issue, principle, subject, course, including math, and every topic being dealt with only in direct relationship to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Ponceti National University [PIU]’s educational program is recognized for prioritizing Christ’s preeminence in all educational efforts. Scripture reference: see Colossians 1:10-22.
